Dutch fashion designer Eleonore de Ruuk (1981) graduated at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute in 2004. After internships in London and Paris with well known fashion designers like Sophia Kokosalaki and Martine Sitbon she decided it was time to start her own label 'Eleonore de Ruuk' in 2006.

Her style can be described best as a distinguished mix of avant-gardish highfashion with a sportive touch. Her hoods, graphic shapes, prints and the use of sportive fabrics contribute to a relax “street” feeling. This combined with the subtle use of more elegant fabrics and shapes give her style a unique handwriting.

Eleonore already build quite a CV. She won the 'Ispo Brandnew Style Award' 2008 for her timeless and highly individualistic style. With this award she won a booth at the 'ISPO' in Munich, the biggest sportsfair in the world. In 2009 she was nominated for the ‘Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany’.

During the finale of TV program ‘So you think you can dance’ one of her designs was worn by one of the finalists. Besides that icon Amanda Lepore selected Eleonore de Ruuk for the London based webshop NOTJUSTALABEL.

Eleonore was previously selected as one of the 25 fashion labels worldwide to be presented by Projekt Galerie showrooms in Berlin for fashionweek a/w 09-10 and at the Kreateur space of the upscale streetwear fashion tradefair 'Margin' in London in 2008. She also presented her work during fairs like Bread & Butter in Barcelona, 'High promises' at the Modefabriek in Amsterdam and fashionshows during Amsterdam International Fashionweek, in New York with 'NYC against HIV', in China with the Arnhem Fashion Factory, Streetlab, Invito Invites You, Freedesigndom and has collaborated with dance group Street4one who won the NK Hiphop 2009 and 2010.

Other events include Fashionclash, Arnhem Mode Biënnale 2009, Dutch Design Double, Dutch Design Week, Superstore at the Modefabriek, Modemarché, Festival WWW and Sale. Tv programs/clips which her designs were used for/broadcasted on include "So you think you can dance", Librium TV, NOS journaal op 3 and videoclip "Rock da Spot" of "Idols" finalist Dewi Pechler.

The label has several sellingpoints throughout The Netherlands and abroad. It also has its own webshop and as of recently a temporary pop-up store on the Vijzelstraat in Amsterdam.
