Eleonore de Ruuk has been selected as one of the designers worldwide to sell her label on the webshop of London based online platform for emerging talent "NOT JUST A LABEL". Every month NJAL asks a famous person in the fashionscene to take the role of curator for the shop. This month it will be Amanda Lepore.
Amanda Lepore, the LaChapelle muse and fashion fraterniser, takes the stage as “THE SHOP’s” curator from Wednesday, 5 August. NOT JUST A LABEL.com’s revolutionary shopping experience is now into its 3rd month on the web. Its avant-garde, one-off pieces have been grabbing attention from all over the world.

Amanda Lepore selected the knotted necklace dress from the s/s 2009 collection "Fractics" of Eleonore de Ruuk.

This new initiative in online shopping has so far featured atypical avant-garde pieces from exceptional and boundary challenging designers such as Ute Ploier, Husam El Odeh, Gemma Slack and Asia Wysoczynska, and selected by key industry figures such as Robin Schulié and Diane Pernet in June and July.

NJAL introduces Amanda Lepore as the curator of the THE SHOP during the month of August. New York pop culture icon and musician, Lepore’s wonderfully chic lifestyle will ensure her choices for the upcoming collection will be everything she embodies; eccentricity and glamour.

Amanda has been connected with many in the fashion world; hosting a multitude of fashion parties around the globe, featuring in the work of photographer David LaChapelle and hosting a Dior Homme catwalk show. She has modelled for Heatherette, M.A.C. and Swatch, and performed with icon Grace Jones and is famed for her outrageous, glamorous and overt sense of style.

Amanda will bring all this to her role, curating this month’s THE SHOP, at NOT JUST A LABEL. Her selection, available from Wednesday 5 August, will once again allow emerging designers to offer their one-off catwalk and exceptionally designed pieces to shoppers in need of something that challenges the homogeneity of the products around us.

On friday evening the 28th of August, the 6th edition of the Mode Marché will take place in Rotterdam in the dutch Architect Institute (NAI). Mode Marché started as a 'stock sample sale' of young and established fashion designers and has grown after 5 editions into thé sample sale of The Netherlands, but also into an inspiring event full of fashion. In the NAI, a striking building designed by Jo Coenen, situated next to the museumparc, is space for up to 900m² of fashion. In this special area a unique selection of fashion designers will sell their own designs, accessories, fabrics and samplecollections. The event is an initiative of Iconique Fashion Magazine (Joost van Gorsel www.iconique.com) and Stylevation Army (Esme Umarella www.stylevationarmy.com). For the organisation of the event, Mode Marché will get help from the youth of 'Your World', the project of Rotterdam, cultural youth capitalcity 2009.

The 6th edition of Mode Marché brings a unique selection of fashion designers together like Rianne de Witte, Eleonore de Ruuk, Vlieger & Vandam en Der Kommissar! Ofcourse this edition won't only be about sales. The space in the NAI, which is organised by interior styling team Friedamaria, will have other activities as well; Dutch designer Jan Taminiau will have a selection of ‘couture candy’ for sale. Unique pieces of dutch fashion designers will be exhibited. Enchanteby.com will do a live report and will involve the visitors of the fashion event to it. Live music, videopresentations and other surprises will make the evening into a 'shopping evening deluxe'. If you want to relax, you can have a cocktail on the special ‘Place du Marché’.

This edition the designers will have more space than during previous editions. This way it will be a more relaxed shopping experience. On the items of Eleonore de Ruuk will be a discount from 30% up to 75%! The a/w 0809 collection "Beware of the wolf" will have a discount between 50% and 75% and the s/s 2009 collection "Fractics" will have a 30% discount! Besides that there will be just a few pieces left of collections before these two collections and some left over fabrics of previous collections for low prices.
